VIETNAMESE: PHO99, 120 Lebreton St N, Ottawa ON, off Gladstone Ave Food we tried: appetizer: imperial rolls. Main: beef noodle soup large #8. Imperial rolls were fresh and nicely filled with shrimp and shredded beef with a nice peanut sauce for dipping. Beef noodle soup #8 was just packed with nice tender beef, and lots of noodles. There was plenty of bean sprouts provided for munching on before the soup arrived and for placing in the soup. Soup broth was amazing as it usually is as we've eaten at PHO99 many times in the past. In our opinion the broth is one of the best ever of any beef noodle house anywhere. Saturday and Sunday lunch time soup always seems to be the best time to experience the great #8. Interior: plenty of tacky decor; washrooms could use some TLC. Price: average for most Vietnamese beef noodle houses. Overall: quick service, excellent tasting beef noodle soup, one of the best broths around. Bring cash as no debit/credit available. On a quiet street so you might miss it. Very recommended by us based on great taste and value. © 2006-2012 itsjustmyopinion.com inc. |
