Change it at each of these intervals no matter how many days/months passes between oil changes. As well, if you live in a part of the world where there is winter and salt is used on the roads, if you rustproof your brand new or 1 year old vehicle right after you get it, using a quality rustproofing company, it will definitely increase the life of the body of your vehicle.
